Gratitude
from Crossgate Church Podcasts
“Gratitude” Luke 17:11-19 A Savior’s Grace and A Leper’s Gratitude . . . He was thankful because he once stood at a distance, but now was able to fall at Jesus’ feet. We have much to be thankful for because we once stood at a distance, but through Christ we are brought near. He was thankful because he once was condemned, but now grace has been shown to him. We have much to be thankful for because we were once condemned, but now the grace of God has been demonstrated toward us. (Romans 5:8) Grace and Gratitude . . . Grace and gratitude are inseparable. There is no expression of gratitude without recognizing that we are the undeservingrecipients of glorious grace. We are not entitled to grace, but deserving of wrath. Recognizing God’s grace . . . All I have, I did not give and do not deserve. It is only by God’sgrace. All I need, I cannot give and do not deserve. It is only by God’sgrace. Recognizing God’s grace is acknowledging that He is the source of all my provision and I am undeserving. My Response . . . When I recognize that all I have and all I need are only by God’s glorious gift of grace, the appropriate response is worship fueled by an attitude of thanksgiving. (Luke 17:15)
