Graves To Gardens - Welcome To The Table

from New Song Students OKC · host Jackson

When the hour came, Jesus and his apostles reclined at the table. 15 And he said to them, “I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. 16 For I tell you, I will not eat it again until it finds fulfillment in the kingdom of God.”17 After taking the cup, he gave thanks and said, “Take this and divide it among you. 18 For I tell you I will not drink again from the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.”19 And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.”20 In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.[a] 21 But the hand of him who is going to betray me is with mine on the table. 22 The Son of Man will go as it has been decreed. But woe to that man who betrays him!” 23 They began to question among themselves which of them it might be who would do this.LUKE 22:14-23Message Title: WELCOME TO THE TABLE“WHEN I DON’T UNDERSTAND THE COST OF THE MEAL, I MINIMIZE THE POWER OF THE MEAL.” 6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray,    each of us has turned to our own way;and the Lord has laid on him    the iniquity of us all.ISAIAH 53:6“SIN IS ALWAYS INJUSTICE AGAINST SOMEONE. AND BECAUSE OF IT, JUSTICE HAS TO BE PAID.”5 But he was pierced for our transgressions,    he was crushed for our iniquities;the punishment that brought us peace was on him,    and by his wounds we are healed.ISAIAH 53:5“COMMUNION IS THE MOST EXPENSIVE MEAL YOU COULD EVER EAT.”“COMMUNION IS SEAT AT THE TABLE WITH JESUS.”  As they approached the village to which they were going, Jesus continued on as if he were going farther. 29 But they urged him strongly, “Stay with us, for it is nearly evening; the day is almost over.” So he went in to stay with them.30 When he was at the table with them, he took bread, gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them. 31 Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him, and he disappeared from their sight. 32 They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?”LUKE 24:28-32
