Gravity's Rainbow
from Dave Bradley · host Dave Bradley
Gravity's Rainbow (2016 remaster) If the fire's on the inside, a naked flame can't touch you Gravity can't pull you now the tide has turned there's no return Walking back the way you came and hoping that you'd be the same Holding back your tears but the fear is just too much for you All the colours of gravity's rainbow Waves of pressure pushing you to fall All the bruising from the grip of your halo Aching with the pressure. That's gotta bring you down And the pressure that's gonna bring you down, down, down Words and Music by Dave Bradley All vocals, harmonies, guitars, bass and handclaps by DB. Originally, I did the lyric where I sing about "pressure" a little bit too much like a Bowie (Under Pressure) pastiche, it was never meant to be that, so I tempered it down in the next take...maybe I should "release" that original version...but I guess I'd also need to have a Freddie Mercury soundalike along for the full duet ;-) I laid down a Nile-style funky guitar lick weeks ago, but the recent, controversial discovery of gravitational waves got me thinking about what brings us down...geddit? Now with cheeky Bowie impression in the finale after the Lifesonesque guitar solo...
