Gray Wolves Return to West California | Spokane News

Gray wolves are making a dramatic comeback in California—confirmed sightings and tracks in Lake County, west of I-5, signal a major expansion. Once nearly extinct since the 1920s, these predators are now estimated at 50+ individuals, thriving thanks to conservation efforts. While they hunt deer, elk, and occasionally livestock, they’re not aggressive toward humans—just keep dogs and coyotes away. This western push is huge: it’s prime territory with abundant prey, and it comes as federal protections for wolves face potential cuts. For California, this is a conservation win—and a reminder that nature’s comeback stories are real. Listen in comfort:Get a discount on a Soli Pillow: http://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
