Drew Sheard is the Senior Pastor of Greater Emmanuel Institutional Church of Church of God In Christ (COGIC) in Detroit, MI.  Additionally, he is the - Prelate of Michigan North Central Jurisdiction; Chairman of the Michigan & Canadian Council of Bishops and General Board Member of the International Churches of God In Christ since 2012. As a prominent leader in COGIC, and currently running for Board, Bishop Sheard hopes to elevate and impact the ministry for the Modern day church. During the Covid 19 crisis, while his family was personally impacted by the deadly virus, Bishop Sheard offered support and assistance to Pastors and ministries, raising over $100k to support churches suffering from the pandemic. Bishop Sheard has always been at the forefront, leading in many crises. He raised money for the Katrina and Harvey survivors and the flint water crisis. Bishop Sheard is a global leader and consistent advocate for Missions & Education who is widely considered a cross-generational bridge builder in the faith-based community. He is also a sought-out advisor in his local and state civic communities. An educator in the Detroit Public Schools for more than 13 years, Bishop Sheard also received an honorary Doctorate of Divinity degree, and in 2007 was inducted into the prestigious Morehouse College Martin Luther King, Jr. Board of Preachers. In 2018, 7 Mile and Schaefer was renamed “Bishop J.
