Great Expectations Chapter XXX

In which we observe the uneasy arrival of our young friend back in his familiar town and his encounter with a mischievous youth who delights in his discomfort, all the while he wrestles with the tender and tormenting emotions stirred by a certain lady of distinction. Later, sharing confidences by the fireside with a loyal companion, he contemplates the vagaries of fortune and affection, finding both counsel and solace in the honest discourse of friendship.
