"Great Gain: The Power of Godliness and Contentment"

from "Prayer Changes Everything" Devotion for Today · host Y.E.S. Jesus Youth Encountering Savior Jesus

January 23, 2025   Daily Devotion:   "Great Gain: The Power of Godliness and Contentment"   1 Timothy 6:6-7 New Living Translation   6 Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth. 7 After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can’t take anything with us when we leave it. In our modern society, we often equate success with financial gain and the accumulation of goods. However, Paul reminds us that our time on earth is transient. Just as we entered this world with nothing, we will leave the same way. The pursuit of godliness, paired with contentment, leads to true satisfaction and joy. To cultivate this mindset, we can practice gratitude and focus on the blessings God has already provided. Philippians 4:11-12 encourages us to be content in every circumstance, whether in want or abundance. Let us pray for the wisdom to value spiritual treasures over worldly gains, and ask for strength to remain steadfast in our faith amidst societal pressures.
