Great Park, Great Pork, or Great Perk?

Over a decade ago, Orange County voters approved a measure clearing the way for a transformation of the former El Toro Marine base into a Great Park that backers claimed would rival Central, Griffith, AND Golden Gate parks. But all that's there now is repurposed runways, a concert venue, and a giant orange balloon—and a new board majority is threatening to review allegations of cronyism by longtime Irvine politician and the park's most vigorous defender, Larry Agran.
