WTMJ host Steve Scaffidi was broadcasting remotely from Green Bay for the NFL Draft and co-host Kristin Brey was joined in-studio by Democratic strategist Joe Zepecki and Republican strategist Bill McCoshen. They talked a little about what the draft meant for Wisconsin. They also talked about the recent breaking news of Milwaukee County Judge Hannah Dugan getting arrested by the FBI. -They next discussed Russia’s latest intense strikes on the Ukrainian capital Kyiv and U.S. President Donald Trump’s response. -They briefly discussed Trump softening his tone on tariffs on China and Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell. -Moving on to the State Budget and the undecided tax policy in Wisconsin. -RODGERS-LOVE *Bill Loved the Green Bay Packers picking Wide Receiver Matthew Golden in the first round of the draft. He Rodgers’d the Minneapolis district attorney who did not prosecute those who vandalized Tesla cars. *Joe Loved how happy Packers fans were for the Packers’ pick. Joe Rodgers’d Donald Trump pardoning a Las Vegas city councilwoman who misused city funds. -GRAB BAGS *Joe brought up the passing of Pope Francis and his legacy *Bill shouted out to Green Bay and the Packers doing a great job on the first day of the draft *Steve echoed his thoughts. Kristin asked Steve about what he saw going down in Green Bay during the draft festivities the previous night. This just in, former U.S. Representative from New York George Santos was sentenced to 87 months in prison. Steve and Kristin discussed this and how local journalism played a role in his election and his many controversies. They next talked about Florida Governor Ron DeSantis' latest initiative to get teenagers to work in his state. Steve and Kristin discussed the U.S. Supreme Court taking up a case from Maryland that could let families opt their children out of reading LGBTQ books. Meanwhile, the Navy canceled a speaking appearance from podcaster Ryan Holiday where he planned on talking about banned books, including those banned by the military; Steve and Kristin discussed this as well. To close off the show, Steve and Kristin discussed a study that said old age brings better quality of life.
