When Morticia’s childhood friend Lionel Barker (Del Moore) visits, Gomez views him as an old beau and current rival. Lionel is really there because he knows they have a lot of money. He intends to sell them some phony oil stock. Fearing Lionel and Morticia might run off together, Gomez hires an awkward, man-crazy maid named Mildred (Pattie Chapman) to pull Lionel from Morticia. When Morticia catches Gomez giving Mildred love lessons, she thinks her marriage is on the rocks. Lionel finds out that Mildred is into stocks. Gomez and Morticia come to realize that neither are in love with someone else.
