Greenbrier Five Legacy Lives On | West Virginia Mountaineers Basketball News

West Virginia women’s basketball returns to the legendary Greenbrier for their 2026 opener, facing Northwestern in a high-stakes rematch of last year’s historic comeback against Duke. With most key players gone and Gia Cooke stepping up as the lone returning scorer, the Mountaineers are rebuilding under Coach Mark Kellogg, who’s already racked up 25+ wins in each of his first three seasons. New transfers Skylar Forbes and Alexis Bordas join the mix as the team aims for another NCAA Tournament run and a shot at the Big 12 title — all while carrying the weight of a storied venue and a legacy they’re eager to expand.
