Greenwich - Home of Longitude

from The Mr Science Show

I am starting a series of stories on sciencey places in the UK, starting with Greenwich. Greenwich, to the east of the city of London, is home to the Royal Observatory, whose mission is to illustrate for everyone the importance of the sea, ships, time and the stars and their relationship with people. Greenwich is also home to the prime meridian, which is the meridian at which longitude is defined to have zero degrees.
