Greg’s Annual Cheque

A Christmas song about a Christmas song So far away from his home, Oakdale He’s playing his epic song in the heat of the desert I realised with my own minds eye There’s really more to life than this silent night Silent Night You’ll believe the same if you let go Give some warmth and some love and you’ll know Can’t avoid the chance that you will fall Never sure but it’s still worth a call Born in a nice neighbourhood, as a child He never took the light away from the Angels in the Choir He never ran with the dogs in the sales But It’s bought by Guardian readers every year in December In December You’ll believe the same if you let go Give some warmth and some love and you’ll know Can’t disguise a man to be a God Never sure but it’s all that we’ve got See the darkness creep over his face today Just like he’s in an avalanche Veil of tears Merry Christmas I believed the same after all Give some warmth and some love and you’ll know Can’t avoid the chance that you will fall Never sure but it’s all that we’ve got All we’ve got All we’ve got
