Gremlins & Better Watch Out
from Chick Flicks Podcast Hosted by Chick Flicks Podcast
Is it really the most wonderful time of the year? In this Christmas episode of Chick Flicks, Bridget and McKenzie discuss two horror movies set at Christmastime: Gremlins and Better Watch Out. Directed by Joe Dante in 1984, Gremlins stars Zach Galligan, Phoebe Cates, and legions of pseudo-furbies. Is this movie racist? We think yes! Directed by Chris Peckover, Better Watch Out was released in 2016 and stars Olivia DeJonge and Levi Miller. Does this film fall into the very toxic cliches it was trying to avoid? Maybe! Chick Flicks is a feminist film review podcast hosted by McKenzie Chapman and Bridget Hovell.
