Gremlins - Free-market Film Analysis
from The Last Nighters - Free-market Film Analysis · host The Last Nighters
A movie that will kick off that Christmas spirit, "Gremlins". Our guest is Rocky Ferrenburg and we'll be sure to keep him dry so he stays fuzzy and cute. Is it more Christmas than Die Hard? We hash it out. A gadget salesman is looking for a special gift for his son and finds one at a store in Chinatown. The shopkeeper is reluctant to sell him the `mogwai' but sells it to him with the warning to never expose him to bright light, water, or to feed him after midnight. All of this happens and the result is a gang of gremlins that decide to tear up the town on Christmas Eve. We also get into some of the anti-capitalist messaging at the heart of this aimless Christmas-filled flick. Hit us up next week as our pal Mike C. joins us to get in on a little Jimmy Stewart flick called, "It's A Wonderful Life." We use movies as a starting point for people who may not be familiar with this way of thinking. The point is to show what anarchy actually is with instances that are presented in film.
