Grief

from Dr Elena - That Therapist Chick · host Elena Sherwood

We carry so much, without knowing we carry so much. We don't want to.  A good part of the time, what we carry is grief; unchecked, unnamed, and unacknowledged. We overlook that we can grieve things that will never be. It could be a life-plan, an estranged family member, all the things we deserve but won't be ours.  When we think about the usual grief of mourning the loss of a loved one, here are a few things to keep in mind. If grief comes at a time when we have no choice but to "park" it, we may fall into a long-term pattern of doing just that. That, prolonged, weighs us down. My wish for you is that you acknowledge that you are at times grieving, and let it flow. Deal. Process. That is how we get to the other side of living our lives fully.
