Today, we are stepping into the courtroom. Usually, we think of grief as something that happens in bedrooms, hospitals, or houses of worship. But grief is also a legal entity. It’s a factor in sentencing, a variable in personal injury lawsuits, and a nightmare in probate court.In the Lab today, we are investigating the Jurisprudence of the Heart. We’re looking at how the legal system tries and often fails to quantify human suffering.
