Grieving Dad | When it hits like a sucker punch
from Withstand Podcast
Hey friends,I'm very thankful that you could join me for another Withstand Podcast episode as I continue to navigate my season of grief. Dad passed away just over five months ago, but in many ways, it still feels like it happened just days ago. Today, I talk about how grief can hit like a sucker punch (in Australia, we call it a coward's punch / king-hit) on days when we're otherwise on auto-pilot, functioning as best we can. As CS Lewis points out, grief can often feel like fear and it can knock the wind out of your sails without warning - and sometimes without an actual storm.I pray that my warblings and musings are a blessing to you. If you make it all the way to the end, I commend you for your patience! Some handy resources:Dr Thomas Constables Study Notes: Book of Revelation: https://soniclight.com/tcon/notes/pdf/revelation.pdfInTouch Ministries - Dr Charles Stanley:On YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@InTouchMinistriesOn Television (here in Australia): 8am AEST NineGEM: https://freeview.com.au/watch-tv/shows/e01a3089-ebb4-4592-8c1b-d24619477602Daily Devotion Books: This is the first book Dad and I read (but there are plenty of other similar books by Dr Stanley) :) https://koorong.com/product/every-day-in-his-presence-365-devotions-charles_9780718011932I'm here for you:Instagram: @withstandpodEmail: [email protected] bless you, guys.
