In 1994, the MLB season was shut down, canceling the remainder of the regular season, the postseason, and the World Series. In 1968, Detroit Tiger pitcher Denny McLain won his 30th game of the season. He was the first to do that since Dizzy Dean in 1931 and it hasn't been done since.
