Griffin’s Wild Card Pitch | Cleveland Guardians News

Foster Griffin takes the mound for the Guardians in a must-win showdown against the Orioles, with the wild card race on the line. His signature cutter has been effective this year — and the Orioles rank dead last against it — but they’re dangerous against lefties overall, especially hitters like Mayo and Encarnacion-Strand. Griffin needs to survive at least five innings to give the bullpen a break, but his performance drops off late, especially when facing the same lineup twice. Manager Vogt may pull him early if things turn sour in the fifth, and with an expanded roster, arms like Espino or Aleman are ready to step in and keep the game alive. This is all about smart pitching and managing innings to secure that crucial win. Listen in comfort:Get a discount on a Soli Pillow: http://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
