Not a lot of positive things came out of the pandemic. A lot of bad stuff came out of the pandemic. Really bad stuff. And some stuff that's not all that bad, but it's irritating.

But we're going to talk about something that is kind of good that came out of that. But the irritating thing is, and this is just me, OK? I'm one of these people who have been struggling with intermittent fasting. Oh, by the way, this is a daily grateful.

I'm Michael Croce. I keep forgetting to say that. I have been struggling trying to do intermittent fasting to lose weight. And I had been effective with it.

And before the pandemic, I was real good at it. I'm just so good at it. The nice thing is that McDonald's would serve you breakfast 24 hours a day. Remember that?

I didn't need breakfast because I was intermittent fasting. And all of a sudden, now I could eat breakfast at one o'clock because I set my window to where I was only going to eat between one and six. That was the most successful thing for me. That was really the most successful thing.

I would not eat anything. And I would eat. I would go to McDonald's. And I would get a bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit.

And at one o'clock in the afternoon, I didn't get the meal because I didn't like the hash browns. I just got the biscuit. And then, because I'm trying to get rid of some of the carbohydrates, I would take the top of the biscuit off and I would eat the bacon, egg, cheese, and the bottom part of the biscuit. And that would fill me up.

I mean, that was good. I would have that. That was good. It was working wonderfully.

And then, I don't know, round four o'clock, I would have a nice dinner at home or five o'clock. I would have a nice dinner that I would make myself because I'm a better cook than most restaurants are. And it certainly saves you money. Well, then the pandemic came.

And McDonald said, oh, we're not doing this 24-hour breakfast thing anymore. That was all because of the pandemic. Intermittent fasting is harder for me. And I love a bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit.

But at 1030, that's it. Consequently, I don't get the bacon, egg, and cheese biscuits, except for when I'm weak and I go and I get the bacon, and cheese biscuits in the morning. And sometimes I don't even take the top off. But here's the cool thing that happened because of the pandemic.

If there is a cool thing. I think it was me getting myself edgimicated. grocery delivery. Now, I learned this from my daughter.

My daughter has three kids. She's a single mom. She works from home. And I go over there and help any kind, any kind of I can, with whatever she needs.

Because I would like to help. So I go over there and help. And I noticed that there were groceries at her front door, a whole bunch of them. And I knocked on the door, come on in.

And then I brought the groceries on. And I said, well, how'd that happen? She goes, well, I get grocery delivery. I don't go to the store anymore.

She goes, I got three kids. Two of my kids are autistic. And going into the grocery store is a pain. I just have it delivered.

I said, well, how much does that cost? She goes, not much, but it's worth it. And I said, oh, well, then I sat in the thought about that. Because I go to the grocery store.

I have friends who go to two or three different grocery stores. You get the best deal here, best deal. I never figured that out. I go to one grocery store.

I then looked into it because of that grocery store that she had all of her groceries delivered from. It's the grocery store that I go to. So I looked in and you have to buy a membership. And the membership gives you then free delivery.

It's not free because you're paying for the membership. But it's worth it. Trust me. It's worth it.

And then you have to tip. It's not much of a tip. But you have to tip a little bit. You don't have to.

But I do that because I want the people who deliver it to me to be happy, happy people. But it's still worth it. It's still worth it. Think about it.

To go grocery shopping, and my daughter pointed this out to me. She said, you've got to decide what you want. That's for a sign. Make a list.

And then you've got to get in your car. You've got to go to the grocery store. You've got to get out of your car. You've got to get a cart that got only knows who's had their hands on it.

You've got to go into the store. And you've got to look for all the stuff. And they're constantly moving things around. So you're constantly looking for stuff.

Then after you're done with that, you have to haul the stuff back out to your car, put it in your car, drive home, unload it, and bring it into the house. She goes, grocery delivery? I sit down at my computer while I'm working. And I type in what I want.

And it reminds you this particular store. It reminds me of stuff that you bought before. If you need it again, are you low on peanut butter? I was low on peanut butter.

So yeah, it's just great. And then at a specified time that you are able to pick the grocery shop. And you have an app on your phone that goes off. And there it is.

So I didn't eliminate making the list. I do that still. But that's on my computer. I eliminated going to the store.

I eliminated finding a dirty cart going into the store, finding everything, paying for it, coming out of the store. And by the way, at this grocery store, they've gotten rid of all, like most of the cashiers, you have to check yourself out. You have to do cell checkout. And they have cameras on you.

And there are people watching you to make sure you don't steal the peanut butter or whatever. I'm just, OK, I've eliminated all that. I've eliminated going back out to the car, loading it into the car. And it was just great.

Very grateful for that. When you look at things that are bad, you can always find something to be grateful about. Pandemic, bad. Grocery delivery, which kind of grew out of all that.

Good. Really good. Not eating as many bacon, egg, and cheese biscuits as I used to. Maybe bad, maybe good.

I don't know. I just know that there's always something to be grateful for. And for me, I'm grateful because in about 20 minutes, somebody's going to show up at my door and drop off a whole bunch of groceries that I ordered. How does it get any better than this?

Really? How does it get any better than this? Have a good day. See you next time.
