Ground of Consciousness and unpalatable thoughts

from Fundamental Expressions · host Y V Chawla

One is escaping the psychological discomfort (pain and uncertainty) by depending upon temples, gods, entertainment, intoxications and so on. As if this discomfort will be removed from the mind, one will get stable relief (apart from immediate physical danger, all fears, anxieties are psychological discomforts). Can one see this? There is no way to escape or undo this discomfort. Seeing this clearly lets one absorb the discomfort ‘as it is’. The whole energy is concentrated. One is attuned to supreme relaxation with unending friction to operate. The illusion keeps one stuck up as if unpalatable thoughts can be removed or undone. Unpalatable thoughts are those, which generate fear, uncertainty about tomorrow, about others. As of now, when you are otherwise safe and secured, seeing that you can not do anything about unpalatable thoughts is the mega step. It is concentration of total energy. When unpalatable thoughts are absorbed ‘as they arise’-whatever action (or no-action) emanates is good, positive, complete. Mind instantly finds some comforting idea, solacing idea to cover up, escape the unpalatable thoughts; the ground of consciousness is not touched.
