IDENTITY in CHRIST! God's Word and Spirit will always agree about WHO you are, what you have and what you can do. Our identity in Christ keeps us centered on the Lord and not on doctrinal differences. Key ideas: God's will for us is good and good only. God has bound Himself to His Word. Psalm 138:2 He watches over His Word in order to bring it to pass. Jeremiah 1:12His Spirit will only move within the confines of His Word. The Holy Spirit does not violate the written Word, they are always perfectly aligned and in agreement and harmony. He loves us if we are outside of His will, but He wants us to all be growing in our identity in Him and maturity in the Word and Spirit. No two believers are the same, yet we share the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit. The Lord has the right to command any of His disciples, and He is the Head over His Church, which the gates of Hell will not prevail against. Confessing our Identity in Christ allows us to renew our mind, train our heart in faith and establish ourselves in Christ, not our gender, race or circumstance. It also allows us to quickly discern and catch an opposite thought or something some says to us, or behavior towards us. The Word is the truth and plumbline for all of us for all of eternity. Who are we? New creations with the Spirit of the Living God in us! 2 Cor 5:17His workmanship Eph. 2:10 Ambassadors 2 Cor. 5:20 Filled with agape love, peace that passes understanding and joy. The righteousness of God. 2 Cor. 5:21 Sons and Daughters, as we mature by the Word and spirit. Romans 10:14 people with purpose, calling and destiny, Psalm 139:16 the Loved of God. accepted by God included in the purpose and plan of God Given authority over the adversary (deception, confusion, poverty, hopelessness, helplessness) Access to the Presence of God, His leadership, HIs Voice and wisdom. Set aside for His purposes in Christ. He tells us our purpose, we do not tell HIm. We are who He has made/designed us to be.
