Group Therapy Thursday

It's Group Therapy Thursday time! Dear Ted and Amy,For my son’s 18th birthday, we gifted him two tickets to see his favorite Major League baseball team play in their home stadium. This will be his first in person experience to see something that big and he’s a huge fun. We were so excited to be able to do this for him. We bought the second ticket with the intention of him taking his girlfriend or possibly myself, which we hinted/joked at when he opened up his gift. Fast forward to a couple of days later, and my son announced he wants to take his dad (my ex). I think both of us were surprised and truthfully we’re a little hurt. The gift was meant to be a big special experience and in no way do I want to tarnish that, but I also feel like it’s going to be a memory that he contributes more to his father than the ones who actually made it happen.
