Growing in Community
from Sermons at the Shed · host Eythan Tibbs
In a culture that emphasizes individualism, the biblical concept of growing through community challenges us to embrace our interconnected design as believers. The church represents far more than a building or weekly service—it is literally the body of Christ on earth and God's dwelling place in the Spirit. As carriers of a divine mandate, we serve as witnesses to the gospel's power and bearers of hope in a hopeless world.Jesus prioritized unity among believers in His final prayer, recognizing that our oneness serves as evidence to the world of His divine mission. The Greek word Ekklesia, meaning the called-out assembly, emphasizes that authentic church requires believers gathering together with purpose. From the beginning, the New Testament pattern has been growth through community—Jesus gathered disciples, the apostles assembled in the upper room, and the early church came together for prayer, worship, study, and service.Maintaining unity requires focusing on core truths while extending grace on secondary matters, putting others before ourselves, and recognizing that every member of the body is essential. Building intentional community starts with practical steps like learning names and stories, moving beyond consumption to participation, and looking for ways to serve others. We're not at church by accident—God has placed each of us there both to receive from and contribute to the community of faith.🌐 Websitehttps://theshed.church📘 Facebook / theshedatprovence 📷 Instagram / theshed.church 🎵 TikTok / theshed.church 📺 YouTube / @theshedatprovence
