In fact, Jesus said that loving God with our whole being is “the great and foremost commandment” (Matt. 22:38). Not a suggestion but a commandment.When the believer grows in love of God, he will enthusiastically want to worship and obey Him. Jesus said, “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.” Of course—we’ll do anything for someone we truly love.So how do we grow in our love of God? Is it about trying to manufacture and maintain affectionate feelings toward God, as a man has for a woman with whom he is in love?
