Growing Pains: S4E16: Fortunate Son
from Looking Back On My Wonder Years: A Wonder Years Podcast · host Angela Bowen
Hey Seaver Fans, Angela Bowen here, the host of Show Me That Smile Again: A Growing Pains Podcast. Here’s the MIKE SEAVER Episode that a listener chose for the month of July. S416: Fortunate Son Airdate: February 22, 1989 In this episode Mike is tired of his job at the car wash. While playing video games with Ben at a neighborhood convenience store, he inquires about working there. The manager immediately hires him for the graveyard shift. The store has many minorities working there. When he asks his boss to be let off the graveyard shift, his boss complies. It makes him feel uncomfortable being that he just started there, and that his wish was only granted because he is white. So Mike sets out to prove his boss is prejudice. Also I look up the term Graveyard Shift, read some of the lyrics of the song “Fortunate Son” and talk about my 3rd Shift temp job stocking shelves at Kmart Thanksgiving night before Black Friday in 2006. My adventure with taking caffeine pills to stay awake. Apparently I learned nothing from Jessie Spano from Saved By The Bell. Check back in August you get to choose the CHRISSY SEAVER Episode I cover out of the two I have in mind. Have a great weekend!
