Growing Pains: S6E17: Eddie, We Hardly Knew Ye

Hey Seaver Fans, Angela Bowen here, the host of Show Me That Smile Again: A Growing Pains Podcast. For the month of September the character I choose to focus on is MAGGIE SEAVER. I picked S6E17: Eddie, We Hardly Knew Ye, which aired on January 30, 1991. In this episode Maggie's father makes a surprise visit to the Seaver household only to drop a major bomb on Maggie, with the news that he is dying. Guys and Gals, I'm not going to lie this is a sad, sad episode, and I do break down a couple times and talk about my dad's battle with cancer and his passing. If this is triggering in anyway feel free to skip it. This episode delivers an important message of how short our time on earth really is and the things we don't want to think about like losing our parents and everything that comes after. Also Joanna Kerns (Maggie Seaver) does an amazing job in this episode as it calls for her to really bring forth the emotion of losing a parent and she knocks it out of the park with her acting. Next month's chosen character for the month of October is going to be JASON SEAVER in S3E13: A Reason To Live, which aired on December 8, 1987. In this episode Jason Seaver feels dispirited and useless until he meets a sad, scruffy young girl who needs his help.
