Growing Pains: S7E7: The Kid's Still Got It

Hey Seaver Fans, Angela Bowen here, the host of Show Me That Smile Again: A Growing Pains Podcast. Today for the month of August the character I picked is CHRISSY SEAVER and the episode I chose for her is S7E7: The Kid's Still Got It which aired on October 26, 1991. In this episode Maggie and Carol visit a health club; Mike and Jason find out that Chrissy has head lice. Also in this episode Maggie and Carol wind up at a Twentysomething Meet and Greet where Maggie is constantly being hit on by this slicked back greasy haired, oiled up, gold chain wearing rat faced guy. This guy is literally boarding on sexual harassment, funnily enough Maggie has a scene where she takes his lit cigarette and drops it down his spandex shorts. We also get our first appearance of Dwight who will become a recurring character and Carol's boyfriend in the future. Poor Chrissy has head lice and it turns the Seaver house upside down to the point of the goofy guy stuff weekend the boys had planned is now over and they're stuck with a computer print out list a half mile long they have to complete to make sure the house is lice free. I loved the scene between Jason and Chrissy where he's combing out lice eggs from her hair. That girl has so much hair, I really think it should have been a two person job. But what was cute was Chrissy thinks her Dad is mad at her because he's making the same noises he makes when he pays bills, but he assures her that's not the case, he just hates what he's doing but he loves her so it's worth it. Awe! Daddy Daughter time. Also so many rubber and latex jokes made at Ben's expense based on his outfit. My favorite: The Lord of Latex! In this episode I research the protocol for head lice removal. Apparently mayonnaise and also onions work wonders. Wow, who knew? I'm still deciding on future episodes with Jason and Maggie, so I'll keep you updated.
