Growing Up Black

from Pastors’ Hangover · host Pastors’ Hangover

This week on The Pastors’ Hangover, we flip the script—literally. Pastor Daryl Black gives up the mic and hands it to his three daughters for a candid, unscripted conversation about what it’s really like being a pastor’s kid. From awkward church moments to the expectations that come with their dad’s role, the girls get real about faith, family, and the things their dad says that drive them crazy. We talk about authenticity, identity, and how spiritual life plays out in the everyday chaos of a pastor’s home. And maybe most importantly: what it looks like to lead a family with grace and laughter. 🎶 There Is More by Daryl Black: https://youtu.be/0iNIwB4VT4I?feature=shared

Wounded Warriors of the Cross Gary Pastoral and clergy mental health is a mostly ignored area, especially by those who live their lives as pastors in the clergy. The stigma of mental health within those who serve in the shadow of the cross is something that invokes the stigma of fear. Many of those in the clergy will choose to suffer in their despair rather than reaching out for help. Sometimes those suffering choose to wait until it's too late to get the real help that they need. At Wounded Warriors of the Cross our mission is to lift the stigma and the veil of silence that encompasses clergy mental health and assist those who suffer in silence. Wounded Warriors of the Cross is here to shed the light of Christ's love into those dark places.
