James spent his entire childhood and formative years, sequestered away as a member of Scientology's Sea Org, a "fraternal religious order, comprising the church's most dedicated members". For the first time, James shares his experiences of being a child growing up in Scientology and the events that led to his leaving the Church, despite it being all he knew... not to mention his billion year contract with the Sea Org. Many of the closest members of James' family are still deeply entrenched within the highest levels of the organisation and therefore, we have taken great care to speak as respectfully as possible, while shedding light on one of the most controversial organisations of our time.
