from Poetry by Tim Windisch · host Tim Windisch
Grumble Well you can blame me or don’t blame anyone at all Running blindly you’ll trip and you’re bound to fall The pretty tiara you wear upon your head will crumble I’m at an expert on these things I said with a grumble Turns where there should be a straight path home You’ve hit a wall and your tears drip softly on the chrome Everything is a mess, this car will cost a bundle listen to it rumble I’m an expert at n these things I said with a grumble Every time I try to say what’s on my mind I get a little worked up and speak unkind Yeah cause I’m trying to say I love you babe but it’s a jumble Shit I’m no expert at these things I said with a grumble I’m grumbling to myself every day since you went away Can’t wait to fall asleep and I don’t want to face the day I’m grumbling that I can’t do more for your situation I’m certain that it’s hard to give an explanation Life isn’t always easy to grasp, and harder yet to explain But a grumpy old man like me finds it easy to complain I’m normally a well-spoken man, now all I do is mumble Hard for me to concentrate so all I do is grumble Well you can blame me or don’t blame anyone at all Running blindly you’ll trip and you’re bound to fall The pretty tiara you wear upon your head will crumble I’m an expert on these things I said with a grumble Tim Windisch 09/04/2022
