GSMC Baseball Podcast Episode 625: Who wins NL MVP, Verlander back with the Astros

Kevin starts the show by discussing the Rookie of the Year, Manager of the Year, and Cy Young Awards. India and Arozarena win the Rookie of the Year awards and neither race was very close. Kapler and Cash win Manager of the Year in each league. Cash becomes only the second manager ever to win the award in back to back seasons. Ray and Burnes with the Cy Young, Burnes was a very close race in the National League with him and Wheeler both receiving 12 first-place votes. The MVP winners will be announced tonight, and with Mike Schmidt presenting the NL award it certainly seems that Bryce Harper will be taking home the hardware. Kevin then talks about the recent signings across baseball. Noah Syndergaard has signed with the LA Angels in a risky move. Eduardo Rodriguez signs a massive deal with the Tigers, in the first move of many potentially for Detroit. Justin Verlander will also be returning to the Houston Astros on a one year 25 million dollar deal with a player option for a second year at an additional 25 million. Kevin wraps up the show talking about all the latest rumors happening across the free-agent market. The shortstop market appears to be very deep with upwards of 12 teams interested in the top 5 available guys. The A's and Reds also seem to be open for business when it comes to all of their top talent this offseason.
