Guardians Acquire Power Hitter Adell | Cleveland Guardians News

Cleveland Guardians pull off a bold trade deadline move, acquiring power-hitting outfielder Jo Adell from the Angels in exchange for catcher Jacob Kozar — a prospect they had plenty of depth to spare. Adell, who’s already smashed 16 homers this season and hit 37 last year, brings serious pop — especially against lefties — and is expected to slot into the middle of the lineup or DH spot. While he struggles with right-handed pitching and strikeouts, his bat speed and exit velocity are elite. The Guardians traded depth for immediate offense, filling a glaring hole as they push toward contention — and it’s a smart, impactful move.
