Guardians Battle Royals' Hot Caglianone | Cleveland Guardians News

The Guardians are desperate to snap a two-game skid against the surging Royals, who’ve won 12 of their last 13 games. With Jac Caglianone torching AL pitching in August — leading the league in batting average, OPS, and RBIs — Cleveland’s offense must find a way to neutralize him. Lefty Parker Messick, rock-solid since late June, takes the mound for the Guardians in a pivotal matchup against right-hander Seth Lugo. Game time: 1:40 PM ET at Progressive Field. The Guardians (68-68) need this win to stay alive in the playoff race, while the Royals (62-75) look to keep rolling.
