Guardians Control Their Own Playoff Fate | Cleveland Guardians News

The Guardians are in playoff position with 25 games left, three back in the AL Central and clinging to the final wild card spot — all thanks to an eight-game win streak. Veteran Carlos Hernandez could return after a miraculous comeback from a car accident, while top prospect Ralphy Velazquez might stay in Triple-A despite his fire. This week’s critical three-game series against Toronto features Gavin Williams, Joey Cantillo, and Tanner Bibee on the mound. It’s also the anniversary of Cleveland’s legendary 2022 win over the Yankees — a game where Omar Vizquel had six hits and Jake Westbrook shut them down for seven innings. With Detroit and Baltimore looming, every game matters — and the Guardians have proven they can deliver when it counts.
