Guardians Draft Liam Peterson | Cleveland Guardians News

Cleveland Guardians strike early in the MLB draft, selecting towering right-hander Liam Peterson with the 19th overall pick—his fastball cracks 98 mph, his slider’s sharp, and his command is improving. A three-year Florida standout with 14 wins and a 5.03 ERA, Peterson’s raw stuff is elite, and scouts believe he’s poised to become a top-tier pitcher if he tames his aggression. The Guardians’ first pitcher off the board since 2021, he’s a high-upside arm with serious upside—and the draft’s not over yet.
