Guardians Draft Pitching Powerhouse | Cleveland Guardians News

The Guardians dominated Day 1 of the 2026 MLB Draft by loading up on pitching, selecting high-upside arms Liam Peterson (No. 19) and teenage phenom Logan Schmidt (No. 59), then added elite athleticism with center fielder Trey Broussard (No. 95) and consistent hitter Kade Lewis (No. 123). Scouting director Paul Gillispie praised each pick—highlighting Peterson’s raw potential, Schmidt’s advanced mechanics for his age, Broussard’s speed and contact ability, and Lewis’s bat with room to develop defensively. The Guardians got exactly what they wanted, and the draft continues today. Listen in comfort:Get a discount on a Soli Pillow: http://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
