Guardians’ High-Velocity Pitcher Liam Peterson | Cleveland Guardians News

The Guardians just snagged a rare pitching gem in Liam Peterson, the 19th overall pick in the 2026 MLB Draft. Standing 6’5” and packing 223 pounds, this Florida righty throws mid-to-high 90s with elite arm speed and a fastball that can touch 100 mph — a raw, untouchable weapon. Scouts see his command as work-in-progress, but his physical tools and relentless drive make him a perfect fit for Cleveland’s system. With a solid slider and developing secondary pitches, Peterson’s ceiling? Top-tier MLB starter. Signed and ready for the minors, he’s poised to make waves by mid-2026 and could be a cornerstone of the Guardians’ future rotation.
