Guardians Rally Behind Cantillo's Gem | Cleveland Guardians News

Joey Cantillo tossed a gem, striking out seven and allowing just one hit over six innings as the Guardians crushed the Padres 6-1 — their first win in weeks and a huge morale boost after a brutal 16-loss streak. Steven Kwan delivered with an RBI double and another extra-base hit, helping Cleveland seize control in the fifth. Cantillo’s dominant pitching shut down a potent Padres lineup, while the offense added runs via a slick double steal and a groundout. The victory also marked the Guardians’ 10,000th franchise win and evened their series against San Diego — proving what happens when everything clicks.
