Guardians Release 19-Year-Old Morillo | Cleveland Guardians News

The Cleveland Guardians are letting go of 19-year-old outfielder Estivel Morillo, a promising rookie from the Dominican Republic signed for $435K in 2024. Though he flashed speed with 23 stolen bases and solid contact stats (32 hits, 17 RBIs) in 51 games for their Arizona Complex League affiliate, he didn’t homer. His release won’t affect the Guardians’ playoff push — they’re clinging to the AL wild card with a 72-70 record. Morillo’s future remains bright; where he lands next could be key to his development.
