Guardians Rookies Deserve ROY Attention | Cleveland Guardians News

Guardians manager Stephen Vogt is rallying behind rookies Chase DeLauter and Parker Messick, arguing they’re being overlooked for AL Rookie of the Year despite their massive contributions to the playoff push. DeLauter’s disciplined hitting—hitting for average with elite walks and covering the whole field—is rare and vital. Meanwhile, Messick has been a dominant force on the mound, posting low ERAs and strong starts, even drawing Cy Young chatter. While Tigers’ Kevin McGonigle leads early buzz, Vogt insists DeLauter and Messick deserve serious consideration—and with no Guardians ROY since 1990, this team is hungry to break that drought.
