Guardians Roster Expansion Breakdown | Cleveland Guardians News

Cleveland’s roster is set to swell to 28 players starting Tuesday, sparking a fierce debate over who deserves the final spots. Daniel Schneeman leads the charge as the top candidate for the extra position player spot—versatile, defensively elite, and heating up at Triple-A. For pitching, Franco Aleman edges out Daniel Espino with his proven multi-inning bullpen readiness and solid minor league stats, while Slade Cecconi looms as a potential long-relief option nearing return from injury. The Guardians’ move signals strategic depth, with Schneeman adding offense and defense, and Aleman or Cecconi locking down the bullpen.
