Guardians' Streak Ends in Crushing Loss | Cleveland Guardians News

The Guardians’ seven-game winning streak came to a crashing halt as the Kansas City Royals crushed them 3-0, ending their hot August run. Tanner Bibee pitched brilliantly—his third straight quality start—but couldn’t get enough run support. Michael Wacha was lights out, throwing eight scoreless innings with nine strikeouts, shutting down Cleveland’s offense that had averaged nearly five runs per game. The Royals, on fire themselves, have won 11 of their last 12 games. Bobby Witt Jr. sparked the Royals’ first run in the fifth, and Carter Jensen sealed the win with a two-run homer in the ninth. Even with the bases loaded, the Guardians couldn’t rally. They’ll look to bounce back today as Foster Griffin faces Daniel Lynch IV in a must-watch matchup.
