Guardians Struggle Without Ramírez | Cleveland Guardians News

The Guardians are reeling after losing star José Ramírez, posting an 8-11 record since his injury—struggling to score runs and relying on shaky defense to keep them in games. In a recent 3-1 loss to the Twins, they struck out ten times while their pitcher gave up two unearned runs thanks to defensive lapses. Younger players haven’t stepped up consistently, scoring four or fewer runs in 14 of 20 games without Ramírez. Offense has dried up since May, with hitters swinging too much instead of staying patient. With Ramírez and another key player sidelined, the Guardians need to find ways to win the grind-it-out games ahead—until their stars return after the All-Star break.
