Guardians Trade for Griffin | Cleveland Guardians News

The Guardians are poised to make a major splash before the trade deadline, reportedly acquiring lefty ace Foster Griffin from the Nationals in exchange for four minor leaguers. Griffin, a Rookie of the Year frontrunner and All-Star, is having a historic season: 12-3 with a 3.06 ERA, striking out batters at will with his seven-pitch arsenal. He’s been lights-out since June, allowing just one earned run in eight straight starts. After brief MLB stints and a stellar three-year run in Japan, Griffin brings elite upside to Cleveland’s rotation — a move that could be pivotal as they chase playoff glory.
