Guardians’ Wild Card Race Hangs in Balance | Cleveland Guardians News

The Guardians took a brutal hit in their crucial loss to the Orioles, dropping a game they couldn’t afford — especially with just 17 games left and playoff hopes hanging by a thread. Joey Cantillo unraveled on the mound, walking five and surrendering four runs in under two innings, while the offense went cold until the ninth, when a late rally fell short. The Guardians need to stop playing .500 baseball and start winning decisively if they want to claw back into contention.
