GUARDING YOUR HEART!

from The Kingdom Of God First Podcast. · host Tewe Kolade Felix

Scripture: Proverbs 4:23 "Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it." Your heart is the wellspring of your life. Every word you speak, every decision you make, every action you take flows from the condition of your heart. That’s why Scripture urges us to guard it with all diligence. To guard your heart means to be vigilant about what you allow into your thoughts, emotions, and spirit—what you see, hear, dwell on, and believe. In a world filled with distractions, negativity, and temptation, it’s easy to let down our guard. But a heart left unguarded can quickly become weighed down with fear, bitterness, and doubt. Just like a garden needs tending to keep out weeds, your heart needs constant care—through prayer, Scripture, worship, and godly boundaries. When you guard your heart, you protect your spiritual vitality. You make space for God’s peace, wisdom, and love to shape your life. Let His Word be the filter through which everything flows in and out of your heart. Today, ask yourself: What am I allowing into my heart that needs to be surrendered or removed? Prayer: Almighty Father, help me to guard my heart with wisdom and care. Fill it with Your truth, love, and peace. Keep me alert to anything that would hinder my relationship with You, and give me strength to protect the wellspring of my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
