Let's Chat! You know we love to talk... In this Guest in the Saddle episode of Uncinched, we sit down with Melody Garner-Skiba of Rocking Heart Ranch to dive into the heart of her breeding program, the philosophy behind the horses she produces, and what truly sets Rocking Heart horses apart. We talk about what it takes to breed quality horses with intention — from foundation and mindset to long-term potential — as well as how Rocking Heart approaches developing horses that are trainable, durable, and versatile. We also delve into the ever-popular Trainer Challenges, where young colts are started and both them and a trainers abilities are showcased, but hear what it’s like from her perspective as the one providing the horses. From selecting the right prospects to watching them go on to succeed, it’s a side of the industry that many people don’t get to see. Beyond the horses, this conversation goes deeper into Melody’s passion for the future of the industry including her commitment to supporting the next generation, creating opportunities, and helping preserve the horse world for years to come.
