She grew to love learning through her experiences as a student. She also saw the academic disparities that her community faced which became a strong motivator for change in her life. She has an incredible story that every woman in STEM can enjoy hearing about. Her story includes how one high school teacher took the initiative to provide an opportunity for a STEM project to Katia and others. That support introduced Katia and her team to engineering and inventing. Now as a computer engineer with a passion for education, Katia aims to encourage other students to invent.
